Carmel International Film Festival
Two weekends ago, I had the opportunity to work with the Carmel International Film Festival. Co-founders, Thomas Burns and Erin Clarke, run this five-day event. My crew and I took pictures for two days of the event.
On the first night, we set up in the main lobby at the Cypress Inn, where the VIP reception was being hosted. The room was fairly small, so we had limited space to set up our lights and backdrop, but we made it work. The day before, I re-discovered a couple vintage cameras in my storage room in the studio, and a projector, which I used as props for the set.
On the second night, we were at the beach of Carmel. The wind was a bit of a concern when we initially came to set up, but luckily it died down once it was time to start shooting. We got some great portraits of directors, actors and attendees right at sunset.
It was a lot of fun and it was wonderful meeting so many talented artists, such as the screenwriter for Diablo, Carlos De Los Rios, and director, Lawrence Roeck.
I can’t wait to add these portraits to my portfolio!
