Shoot with Dan Diaz and Diablo Magazine

I recently had the opportunity to collaborate with Diablo Magazine to do a portrait shoot with Dan Diaz. His terminally ill wife made headline news when she and her husband decided to move to Oregon so she could end her suffering.

His wife, Brittany, loved California and wanted to die there, but at the time assisted suicide (for the terminally-ill) was illegal. Before she passed away, she let her story hit the news. It created a huge discussion among the media and religious groups about the ethics of her decision.

Before passing away, Brittany asked her husband to fight for other terminally-ill patients in California, to die with dignity in their home state. Diaz was able to fulfill his promise to her. Last week, California state Governor Jerry Brown passed the right-to-die bill on October 5th.

Diablo magazine wrote a wonderful article on Diaz and his wife’s story. Warning – It will be hard to keep your eyes dry by the end of it.

I'm honored to be a part of this project. I look forward to adding these portraits to my portfolio.
