Juniper Ridge

If you could capture a scent in a bottle, what would it be?

This bay area fragrance company, Juniper Ridge, did not set out to be in the perfume industry but rather stumbled across it while pursuing their love for nature and the great outdoors.

They collect all of the ingredients while on the trail hiking. The process of collecting the items can be a long tedious task. For example, it takes two full days to collect a backpack full of oceanspray blossoms used in one of their fragrances.

They use enfleurage, tincturing, and old whiskey distillation processes to create the fragrances. Their passion and hard work pays off to create a unique product that truly reminds you of the great outdoors.

I had the opportunity to meet Juniper Ridge’s Chief Storyteller, Obi Kaufmann. He writes about their adventures and posts photos on Instagram (@coyotethunder and @juniperridge) showing behind-the-scenes of their work process and the beautiful scenery around them.

It was an honor to work with these guys and I cannot wait to add these photos to my San Francisco portrait photographer website.
