Meet Matt Rogers, Co-Founder of Nest Labs

I had an excellent shoot with Matt Rogers, co-founder and VP of Engineering at Nest Labs and creator of the Nest Learning Thermostat.

We have come so far with technology—computers, iPods, digital cameras, etc. But what still feels archaic? Thermostats. That’s where Matt Rogers comes in. His team is working on revolutionizing the thermostats to give people more control over their home heating and cooling systems.

Rogers was not always interested in thermostats. He began his career as a software engineer on Apple’s first iPod, and then went on to help design the iPhone and iPad.

The idea of Nest was born after a conversation with co-founder Tony Fadell about thermostats: “It started as our frustration and the more we talked to other people, the more we heard their frustration,” Rogers says. “That was the tipping point."

Working with the Dutch magazine, Emerce, we had the opportunity to meet one of Silicon Valley’s elite. It's an honor to have Mr. Rogers a part of my portrait work.

You can check out more information about his company on his website or read Emerce’s article here.
